A knee injury can be caused by trauma, misalignment, degeneration and by arthritis. A form of knee pain is called patellofemoral syndrome which involves a tissue related problem, creating pressure and irritation in the knee. Another form of knee pain involves a tear, slippage or dislocation that impairs the structural ability of the knee to balance the knee. This is called patellofemoral instability syndrome.

Age is a large contributor to disorders of the knee, due to the weakness of tissues overtime. Knee pain can also be caused by a number of other ways, including: fractures, accidents, injuries and constant strain on the knee. When heavy stress is applied to the knee, it is damaging the cartilage. Those who frequently run and lift weights are especially susceptible to this type of knee pain. Muscle weakness and being overweight can also contribute to the wear and tear of the knee.

Patients usually complain of a painful and swollen knee. Modern medicine may help knee pain but only temporarily and with many unwanted knee injuries. Lifetime medication may be needed in regards to modern medicine.

Spinal cord injury usually begins with a sudden, traumatic blow to the spine which fractures or dislocates vertebrae. This damage begins at the moment of injury when displaced bone fragments, disc material, or ligaments bruise or tear into the spinal cord tissue. Most injuries to the spinal cord don’t completely sever it. Instead, an injury is more likely to cause fractures and
compression of the vertebrae, which then crush and destroy the axons, extensions of nerve cells that carry signals up and down the spinal cord between the brain and the rest of the body. Injury to the spinal cord can damage a one, few or almost all of these axons.

There are a number of causes to spinal cord trauma, including vehicle accidents, falls, sports injuries, gunshot wounds and violence. Even aging can cause a spinal cord injury due to the body’s loss of ability to protect the spinal cord with the spinal canal.

Symptoms of spinal cord injury include:

• Breathing difficulties
• Loss of bowel and bladder control
• Numbness
• Sensory changes
• Increased muscle tone
• Pain
• Weakness and paralysis.

A CT scan or MRI of the spine usually shows the location and extent of the damage of the spinal cord. These scans can also reveal other problems like blood clots.

Modern medicine provides no cure for spinal cord injuries. It only tries to cover up symptoms like pain. Other modern tactics include surgery which is very expensive, dangerous and not guaranteed to help. The recovery time of surgeries can also be very long.

Fortunately, natural remedies do exist to help aid spinal cord injuries.

A brain injury is any injury occurring in the brain of a human. There are different classifications of brain injuries. Primary and secondary brain injury are used to describe the injury processes that occur in brain injury, while focal and diffuse brain injury are used to describe the location of injury in the brain.

Forms of brain injury include: brain damage, traumatic brain injury, stroke and acquired brain injury. Brain damage consists of the destruction of brain cells. There are a variety of causes, including illness and disorders. A large amount of brain damage would cause a traumatic brain injury following head injury from an outside source.

Traumatic brain injury, also known as intracranial injury, occurs when an external force greatly injures the brain. It is a major cause of death and disability worldwide, particularly in children and adolescents. Causes include falls, vehicle accidents and violence.

A stroke, known as a cerebrovascular accident, is the loss of brain function due to the lack of blood supply to the brain. There are a number of causes to this, including the lack of blood flow or a leakage of blood. As a result of the lack of blood to a particular area in the brain, the affected area cannot function which may result in paralysis of a limb(s), the inability to understand or formulate speech or the inability to see one side of the visual field. An acquired brain injury describes the brain damage when caused by events after birth, rather than as a part
of a genetic disorder.
Modern medicine has no cure for brain damage. Symptoms are attempted to be treated but the result is very little to no aid in the actual disorder itself. Fortunately, herbal remedies help for victims of brain damage. Contact Raif Emini, Licensed Holistic Practitioner, Master of Alternative Medicine, PhD. in Natural Medicine.

The disease is caused by infection with the poliovirus which can be spread by direct person-to-person contact, contact with infected mucus in the nose or mouth and contact with infected feces.

There are three basic types of polio infections: subclinical infections, non-paralytic and paralytic.

Most of victims are sufferers of subclinical infections, which usually show little to now symptoms. Their symptoms may include: general discomfort, headache, red throat, fever, sore throat and vomiting. Symptoms usually only last for a couple of days.

Non paralytic infections affect the central nervous system but do not involve the paralysis of the body. Symptoms include:

• Backache
• Diarrhea
• Fatigue
• Headache
• Leg pain
• Fever
• Muscle stiffness
• Neck pain
• Skin rash and vomiting.

Symptoms usually last for about 2 weeks.

Paralytic polio affects the central nervous system and involves either partial or full paralysis of the body. Other symptoms include: fever, abnormal sensations, breathing difficulty, constipation,
drooling, headache, muscle spasms, muscle pain, muscle weakness and sensitivity to touch.

There is no cure for polio in modern medicine. Modern medicine attempts to control symptoms but does so with very little effect and with many unwanted side effects.

Fortunately, there is still hope for you if you are a sufferer of polo due to natural remedies. Contact Raif Emini, Licensed Holistic Practitioner, Master of Alternative Medicine, PhD. in Natural Medicine.

Some signs that help indicate Parkinson’s disease include:

• Difficulty starting / finishing movements
• Jerky movements
• Muscle atrophy

Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory disease in which the myelin covers around the axons of the brain and the spinal cord, causing the nervous system to be damaged.

Multiple sclerosis prevents nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord from communicating with each other effectively. MS causes the body’s own immune system to mistakenly attack and damage myelin, preventing the axons to conduct signals, which is the basis of communication in the central nervous system.

In modern medicine, no cure exists for multiple sclerosis. Modern medicine, however, attempts to treat it to prevent new attacks or disability. Unfortunately, the medications can have adverse effects and be simply ineffective.

Back pain, also called backaches, can be described as pain or discomfort in the back, usually originating from the muscles, nerves, bones, joints or other structures in or near the spine. Back pain can be divided into neck pain, upper back pain and lower back pain which are all respectively grouped in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebral regions.

Back pain can either be a temporary or a chronic problem; it can stay in a certain spot or spread to other areas. It can be described as a dull ache, sharp, piercing or burning sensation. Back pain leads to other symptoms including weakness, numbness or tingling. Back pain is one of the most common types of pains humans have had historically and the lack of aid victims receive is very little due to the lack of modern medicine available. Most drugs hardly help and cause many unwanted side effects.

Fortunately, there are natural medicine for back pain that can stop it quickly, without any side effects!

Arthritis – Herbal Therapy – Toronto Herbal Therapist – Spinal Cord Injury – Back Injuries

Arthritis (from Greek arthro and itis) literally means joint inflammation. Arthritis consists of over 100 forms, the most common being osteoarthritis which is a result of trauma to the join, infection of the joint or natural aging. Sufferers of arthritis note that the joint pain is their biggest complaint.

The pain from arthritis is often due to inflammation that occurs around the joint daily wear and tear of the joint muscle strains caused by forceful movements against stiff, painful joints and fatigue. There consists of many diseases where joint pain is the main feature. Otherwise, the joint paint can be a symptom of other diseases, thus the arthritis is considered to be secondary to the main disease.

Common symptoms for arthritis disorders include: varied levels of pain, swelling, joint stiffness, and sometimes a constant ache around the joint. Arthritis is also one of the most common causes of disability. Some arthritic disorders can have an external effect on other organs, which may result in: the inability to use a hand or leg, malaise and fatigue, fever, weight loss, lack of sleep, muscle aches and pains, tenderness and difficulty of moving the joint.

Although arthritis causes pain which deters physical activity, it is important for the patient to not limit their physical activity to avoid the risks of: muscle weakness, loss of flexibility and decreased aerobic fitness. Arthritis can also deter the patient away from their normal social life, perhaps leading to a decreased involvement with his/her family and friends.

Medical doctors have no cure for arthritis. They just prescribe drugs to the patient that has more negative than positive effects (due to side effects). But wait! There still is hope as there is a natural cure for arthritis. Contact Raif Emini, Licensed Holistic Practitioner, Master of Alternative Medicine, PhD. in Natural Medicine for more information.
